Twokeep is not available yet. These pages describe the iPhone app as it is being tested, and details can change before launch.

Send the invitation

Create a vault and share the invitation, as a link or as a code of 10 letters and digits. Give it only to your partner: whoever uses it first joins the vault. An invitation works once and only for a short time. If it expires, send a new one.

Your partner opens the link, or types the code under Accept an invitation, and taps Accept and join. The vault keeps the data region (EU or US) of the account that sent the invitation.

There is no contact upload, no directory and no way for strangers to find you. The only way into a vault is an invitation you send.

Compare the safety code

When your partner has joined, both iPhones show a safety code. Compare the two codes in person or on a video call, never by message. You can scan the code from your partner's screen or type it. Pairing is complete once both of you have verified it.

Do not verify because of a message, a call from a number you do not know, or a familiar name alone. The code is what proves the other iPhone belongs to your partner.

Pairing is not permission

Being paired does not let either of you see what the other adds. Every item still needs approval before it opens, unless you both choose to share it permanently.

When your partner's iPhone changes

If your partner moves to a new iPhone or restores their keys on one, Twokeep shows “Your partner's device changed”. The next approval sheet shows the change, its date, and whether you have verified it, above the approve button.

Compare the new safety code with your partner, in person or on a video call, before you approve anything. Until you do, your iPhone does not send your half of a key to the new iPhone. If you did not expect a change, do not approve, and talk to your partner first.
