Photo & video sharing for two
Private albums. Shared control.
Keep shared photos and videos in encrypted albums for you and your partner. Request and approve viewing, see shared activity, and remove items from the vault for both of you.
Twokeep is being built for iPhone and Android and is not available yet. It is for adults 18 and over.
Two things that hold by design
Nobody opens it alone
No single phone holds a usable key, so nobody can be forced to open the vault alone.
Each photo and video is locked with a key split between the two of you. Approving sends your half to your partner's phone for what you approved, and nothing more.
Watch together
“Watch together” lets both people open something only while both are present.
You both join one live session. If either of you leaves or loses the connection, playback stops for both.
This is how Twokeep works, not a guarantee against every attack. The security page explains what it can and cannot protect.
How it works
Request and approve
Either of you can ask to view a photo or video. The other approves one viewing or a set time of up to 72 hours, or declines. Saying no carries no penalty. You can approve now and your partner can view later, even while you are offline.
See activity
You both see the same history: requests, approvals, playback, capture incidents and removals. You can turn on an alert for an album to hear when playback started on your partner's phone. “Playback started” is what the app reports; it cannot tell whether anyone was looking.
When the phone detects a screenshot or screen recording, the item locks and needs a fresh approval. Detection depends on the phone and does not catch everything.
Remove for both
Either of you can remove a photo, a video, an album or the whole vault for both of you, at any time, without asking the other. Copies saved outside the vault, such as the original in a phone's photo library, a screen recording or a photo taken with another camera, cannot be removed by Twokeep.
Encrypted before it leaves your phone
Photos and videos are encrypted on your phones before upload. Twokeep stores them but cannot decrypt them, and has no key to unlock them for anyone. The service still sees some information, such as who shares a vault with whom, file sizes and when requests are made. The privacy page lists it.
